Mechatronics R&D at Denovo | Terni, Central Italy
Mechatronics is one of Denovo’s four R&D streams, alongside artificial intelligence, blockchain and cybersecurity. We work from Terni on systems that combine mechanics, electronics and software control, for companies across Central Italy and the European single market.
What we build
We design and build mechatronic devices from scratch, for industrial and automation contexts. In-house competencies cover the full chain: mechanical modelling, custom electronic boards, embedded firmware, control algorithms, sensor integration, testing.
Combinations we routinely carry across the other R&D streams:
- mechatronics and AI: control systems that learn from operational data and adapt in real time;
- mechatronics and blockchain: industrial devices that cryptographically sign telemetry before sending it to distributed traceability ledgers;
- mechatronics and cybersecurity: dedicated hardware for secure operations on OT networks, with the cryptographic boundary isolated from the rest of the stack.
How we work
The approach is “de novo”: we do not re-adapt existing solutions, we design each system from the problem up. This lets us deliver products with an energy profile, footprint and interface calibrated to the actual use case, without backward-compatibility constraints.
The in-house team combines mechanical engineering, analogue and digital electronics, embedded firmware and control systems. The lab is in Terni, Umbria. As an Italian innovative startup we operate across the entire EU plus Switzerland.
Who reaches out to us
- industrial companies in Central Italy looking to automate a line with a custom system;
- clients who need mechatronic prototypes to validate a hypothesis before industrialising;
- integrators who need an Italian supplier capable of owning the full hardware and firmware stack.
