Confundus, post-quantum security device

We have published confundus.it, the landing page for our latest cybersecurity project. Confundus is a dedicated hardware device that protects data against the cryptographic threats of the quantum era. The site has been online since 3 December 2025.
What Confundus is
A physical appliance that isolates critical cryptographic operations from the rest of the network infrastructure. It sits next to existing systems without forcing any rewrite: you plug it in, it takes over the encryption of sensitive flows, and it runs algorithms designed to resist quantum attacks.
Going with dedicated hardware was driven by two concrete constraints:
- post-quantum algorithms require keys and signatures significantly larger than RSA or ECC, which is a heavy load on general-purpose CPUs;
- separating the cryptographic boundary from the rest of the stack reduces the attack surface and simplifies security audits.
What the site covers
The landing page tells you why we started the project (the quantum threat is concrete, not hypothetical), what the device does, and the architectural choices behind it. It is a static site with no tracking, compliant with GDPR, WCAG 2.1 AA and EAA.
Project status
Confundus is under active development. On the landing page we published the feature set and the research roadmap, not a commercial release date: we will update this blog when we get there.
Where it fits in Denovo
Cybersecurity is one of the four R&D streams at Denovo, alongside artificial intelligence, mechatronics and blockchain. It is the only one we run under industrial secrecy: some projects have already been filed with the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN). Confundus is the first initiative from that perimeter that goes public.
